Job summary

Vermeer Midwest is seeking a detail-oriented Service Writer for our Aurora, IL location. This full-time, hourly role supports service and repair processes, quotes, and customer communication, while guiding jobs to technicians and ensuring accurate invoicing.

Qualifying candidates have a high school diploma and at least 4 years of experience with vehicle or equipment service, strong communication, and proficiency in CDK and MS Office. No weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in vehicle or construction equipment service, or equivalent.
• Solid technical knowledge of equipment and repair processes.
• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency in CDK, Microsoft Office, and internet-based tools.
• Must pass background check, drug screen, and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Assign service jobs to technicians based on skill, availability, and shop flow.
• Schedule road service calls efficiently and economically.
• Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding service status.
• Review and finalize repair orders for accuracy in parts, labor, and materials.
• Submit and reconcile warranty claims with vendors.
• Address and elevate customer complaints to the Service Manager.
• Stay current on technical and product knowledge for all equipment sold.
• Participate in company communication efforts including meetings and huddles.
