Job Description

The Equipment Sales and Planning Manager is responsible for the management and overall operation of the sales administration department. The Equipment Sales and Planning Manager maintains responsibility for machine pricing strategy, scheduling of deliveries, customer communications, inventory planning, sales forecasting, market analysis and other statistical analysis.

Job Duties/Mission

SALES

  • Manage equipment sales administration, i.e. forecasting, inventory, pricing, and discount strategies and the coordination of orders shipped/received.
  • Oversee the management of personnel, inventories, and departmental expenses.
  • In collaboration with product marketing, analyze market statistics, interpret field intelligence, compile competitive pricing, lost sales and share of market (SOM) data.
  • Prepare price lists as changes dictate and coordinate updated price list publication to maximize company competitiveness, sales and profitability.
  • Assist in evaluations to prepare annual sales plans and monthly/weekly forecasts and results related to sales, pricing, margins, SOM, and programs.
  • Maintenance of standard cost comparisons used for sales pricing and margin purposes.
  • Manage all reporting and administration of new, aged, dealer, consignment and demonstration inventory to ensure compliance with company goals and objectives.

PLANNING

  • Participate and help manage monthly SIOP meetings and continuous improvement thereof.
  • Analyze demand history, maintain forecasts and integrate sales input to determine proper stock levels.
  • Oversee material requirements planning (MRP).
  • Establish and maintain planning parameters related to forecasting, reorder point and safety stock.
  • Create purchase orders, interface with vendors, expedite critical requirements and ensure timely arrival of product.
  • Maintain SAP integrity.

Others

  • Travel for meetings and assist in customer resolution and support.
  • Provide leadership, ethics, code of conduct, and compliance with all legal requirements, i.e. AAP/EEOC, etc.
  • Assist with special reports and projects as assigned.
  • In collaboration with finance, ensure retail and wholesale finance programs are administered in accordance to customer needs and company profitability targets.
  • Manage new, used, consignment and rental inventory in accordance with annual plan objectives.
  • Recommend sales forecasts, product improvements, inventory stock levels, stock programs, and solutions to problems.
  • Interact directly with other departments such as Product Support, Parts, Marketing Services, Traffic, Engineering, Plant Operations, Materials, Shipping, Quality Assurance (QA), Finance, Credit, Accounting, and Administration.
  • Maintain relationships/contacts with customers, finance companies, and vendors.
  • Ensure that a customer first mindset is the primary driver for decision making.
  • Be the conduit between Territory Managers, office staff, and dealers: solving problems and answering difficult questions.
  • Manage and maintain field machine inventories at acceptable levels and assist with outstanding accounts receivable (A/R) in compliance with company objectives.
  • Mitigate company risk and exposure by working closely with Credit on high risk accounts. Coordinate the implementation of corrective actions as required.
  • Establish and maintain accurate sales forecasts to assist with proper production planning and inventory control.
  • Maintain expenses within operating budgets and identify opportunities to eliminate expenses that do not add value to the Company.
  • Work closely with Executive management, Legal and Credit to facilitate mutual or unilateral termination proceedings as necessary.

Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and other analytics tools (Power BI)
  • ERP knowledge
  • Capability to plan effectively, set priorities, make sound decisions, and to manage several complex projects with interruptions while working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze and present data effectively
  • Desire and ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Accurate and reliable self-starter
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with ability to develop strong professional working relationships across all levels of the organization

Knowledge/Education Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or similar with five years of experience along sales and planning. The capacity to develop a solid understanding of our sales and equipment planning process and present finding in an transparent and effective manner. Fluent in English is a must.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office; including Word and Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Certifications/Licenses: Maintain a valid driver's license.

Travel Requirements

Travel is expected but limited primarily domestic US with some international travel.

Location: South Carolina, within 40 miles of Rock Hill_ON SITE

Being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.

The successful candidate should be capable of working independently with good analytical and communication skills. The candidate should also have good leadership and team-building skills and possess the ability to find solutions to challenging projects. In addition, the candidate should be capable of easily and fluidly relating to the local and global management team in order to best support the needs of the business.
