Job summary

Castongia Tractor is seeking a driven sales professional to represent the sale of machinery and services in a defined territory in Indiana. You will stay current on product knowledge, promote equipment through field demonstrations, and collaborate with the Service Department to ensure smooth delivery and after-sales support.

Qualifications include an Associate degree or equivalent, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and solid computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Represents the company for the sale of machinery and/or services to customers in a defined sales area.
• Keep current on product knowledge, features, and benefits of all equipment the company can sell.
• Keep aware of manufacturers' sales incentive programs to promote increased sales.
• Keep aware of competitive activity and trends that affect customers' purchases.
• Maintain current and complete information for all customers in the assigned territory.
• Maintain company vehicle and equipment as assigned.
• Conduct field demonstrations to promote increased sales.
• Complete all paperwork related to sales transactions.
• Coordinate with Service Department on setup, delivery and repair of sold equipment.
• Provide customer follow-up after the sale to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
• Attend sales meetings, training events, and seminars.
• Any duties assigned by Management.

Purpose

To represent the company by selling equipment and services while demonstrating the value of doing business with us.

Responsibilities

• Represents the company for the sale of machinery and/or services to customers in a defined sales area.
• Must keep current on product knowledge, features, and benefits of all equipment that the company can sell.
• Keep aware of all manufacturers' sales incentive programs to promote increased sales.
• Keep aware of competitive activity and competitive products. Keep aware of trends in our customers’ business that will affect the products and/or services these customers will buy today and into the future.
• Maintain, as directed by the Sales Manager, current and complete information for all customers in the assigned territory.
• Maintain company vehicle and other equipment (e.g., computer) as assigned.
• Conduct field demonstrations to promote increased sales.
• Maintain all manuals, price lists, and other documents given to the individual by the company in good, usable, and current condition (electronic and/or paper, as directed). Accurately complete all documents related to sales transactions.
• Have a good knowledge of used equipment values and be able to evaluate properly for trading purposes.
• Collaborate with the Sales Manager to follow-up on and expedite customer orders for equipment sold.
• Complete all paperwork associated with the sale of complete goods in a timely and efficient manner.
• Responsible for communicating effectively with the Service Department(s) on setting up, delivery and repair of sold equipment.
• Provide customer follow-up after the sale and delivery of a purchase to ensure customer satisfaction and promote the relationship with the customer to achieve customer loyalty.
• Attends applicable sales meetings, training events, and seminars.
• Any duties assigned by Management.

Experience, Education, Skills And Knowledge

• Good understanding of local conditions with a knowledge of sales and resale values of particular machinery.
• Must be a self-starter
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good computer skills
• Ability to negotiate customer complaints to a satisfactory resolution
• Associate degree or equivalent in work experience
• Ability to work with a team
• Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
