Position: Equipment Repair Technician

Location: TRUCK SHOP, 2225 S. 22ND AVENUE, PHOENIX, AZ 85009

Salary: $44,034.12 - $54,034.12 (Anticipated: $49,034.12)

Grade: 17

Job Summary

This role involves performing diagnostic, inspections, and mechanical repairs on automotive and heavy construction equipment, utilizing your mechanical expertise and diagnostic skills to maintain the Light/Heavy Equipment Fleet for ADOT.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engines and electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
• Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on various equipment including engines, hydraulic systems, and specialized machinery.
• Operate vehicles requiring a commercial driver’s license, road test after repairs, and maintain records.
• Fabricate and modify equipment, and travel to job sites for repairs.

Qualifications & Skills

Knowledge of powertrain, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic systems; ability to operate diagnostic tools; experience with repair estimating and scheduling; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 90 lbs; valid Class B CDL or ability to obtain within six months; ASE Master Certification preferred.
