Job summary

Muller, Inc. is seeking a skilled excavation technician in Manassas, VA to perform trenching, box installations, and equipment operation following safety and OSHA guidelines. The role emphasizes hands-on training and strong quality control across production tasks.

Responsibilities include trenching, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with team members to ensure underground utility work is completed accurately and safely.

Job description

• Excavates trenches for water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer
• Installs trench boxes as necessary
• Operates equipment in compliance with Muller's safety policies and OSHA procedures
• Ensure proper excavation & compaction procedures are performed
• Ensures all equipment is maintained by performing daily equipment inspections & grease equipment at required intervals
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of underground utilities
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required to complete the job

Physical Requirements:

• Employee must be physically fit to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
• Regularly required to sit and stand, must be able to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and verbally communicate and listen.
• Other physical requirements include walking, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
• Specific vision abilities required by the position include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
