Job summary

Nucor Corporation's Trademark Metals Recycling is hiring Equipment Operators to keep the yard moving. You'll run forklifts, skid steers, and related equipment, with training provided. This position offers weekly pay, performance bonuses, and comprehensive benefits after 30 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of small equipment operation experience — preferably in scrap metal, construction, or manufacturing.
• Comfortable operating forklifts, skid steers, and similar equipment safely.
• Solid understanding of equipment operating principles, hazards, and safety precautions.
• Dependable — shows up on time and ready to work every shift.
• Able to stand or walk for most of the shift (up to 12 hours).
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs; outdoor work in all weather; overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate small equipment including forklifts, skid steers, and similar machines.
• Load scrap material onto shredder feed conveyors and move material throughout the yard.
• Load trucks and railcars and perform daily equipment inspections.
• Keep the yard clean, safe, and organized; report defects to supervision.
• Communicate with teammates by radio for safety and production updates.
• Cross-train in other positions and support team as needed.
