Job Summary: To transport and process donated, purchased merchandise, salvage or recycle goods for

preparation, sale, recycle or trash in order to meet preset production and sales goals. To handle day-to-day

operations of processing, making bales, physically loading or unloading trucks and operating compressor

machines/compactors/shrink wrap machines, pallet jacks, and dollies. To follow the core values of Goodwill of

Southern Nevada (GWSN).

Supervision Received:

The Equipment Operator receives supervision from the Leaders of Operations, Support Manager of Operations, Manager of Operations, and Senior Manager of Operations.

Supervision Exercised:

The Equipment Operator does not supervise anyone.

Responsibilities

1. Material Handling
2. Moving bales and salvage merchandise to various locations inside the warehouse.
3. Ensuring daily operations are structured to meet production and sales goals.
4. Loading or unloading trucks as needed.
5. Assisting in donations, including knowing criteria for acceptance, assisting donors promptly, and providing receipts.
6. Following all safety, asset protection, and team member policies, reporting injuries or violations immediately.
7. Operating pallet jacks or hand trucks safely.
8. Maintaining excellent attendance and punctuality.
9. Becoming certified on balers/compactors and OSHA forklift certification.
10. Unloading containers in warehouse areas.
11. Being flexible to assist where needed in the warehouse.
12. Keeping work areas clean and organized.
13. Handling dust and animal hair, which may be present year-round.
14. Ensuring compliance with all policies, standards, and safety regulations.
15. The Baler/The Tipper/Trash Station Responsibilities
16. Inspecting equipment before shifts and documenting issues.
17. Communicating malfunctions to supervisors.
18. Cleaning work areas and relocating cages or gay-lords for unloading.
19. Accurately recording bale production and reporting to supervisors.
20. Meeting daily bale production goals.
21. Handling clothing and moving bales to storage.
22. Assisting in other projects as directed by management.

Requirements

• High school/GED completion.
• Ability to follow instructions, work as a team, and learn job techniques within 30 days.
• Experience with pallet or hand trucks is a plus.
• High integrity and business ethics.
• Flexibility and adaptability.
• No disqualifying criminal history within 7 years.
• Proof of work eligibility and identification.
• Fluency in English; bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical Factors

Lift/carry up to 50 pounds, push/pull carts up to 100 pounds. Work environment includes dust, animal hair, and temperature variations, mainly standing and walking with some bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
