Job Summary

To transport and process donated, purchased merchandise, salvage or recycle goods for preparation, sale, recycle, or trash in order to meet preset production and sales goals. Responsibilities include handling day-to-day operations such as processing, making bales, physically loading or unloading trucks, and operating compressor machines, compactors, shrink wrap machines, pallet jacks, and dollies. The role requires following the core values of Goodwill of Southern Nevada (GWSN).

Supervision

Supervision Received: The Equipment Operator reports to Leaders of Operations, Support Manager of Operations, and Senior Manager of Operations.

Supervision Exercised: The Equipment Operator does not supervise others.

Responsibilities
  • Moving bales and salvage merchandise within the warehouse.
  • Structuring daily operations to meet production and sales goals.
  • Loading or unloading trucks for deliveries as needed.
  • Assisting in donations by knowing acceptance criteria, providing prompt assistance, and offering receipts to donors.
  • Following all safety, asset protection, and team member policies outlined in manuals and handbooks.
  • Reporting injuries or safety violations promptly.
  • Operating pallet jacks or hand trucks safely.
  • Assisting with loading/unloading donations and merchandise.
  • Maintaining excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Becoming certified on balers/compactors and OSHA forklift operation.
  • Unloading containers in warehouse areas.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Handling dust and animal hair present in the warehouse.
  • Ensuring compliance with all policies, safety, and security regulations.
Additional Responsibilities

The Baler/Tipper/Trash station duties include inspecting equipment, recording production data, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with recycling efforts. Ensuring operational efficiency and safety compliance is essential.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks at a set pace.
  • Willingness to learn job techniques within the first 30 days.
  • Experience with pallet or hand trucks is a plus.
  • High integrity and business ethics.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • No disqualifying criminal record within the past 7 years.
  • Proof of identification and work eligibility in the U.S.
  • Fluency in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Factors

Lift/Carry: Up to 50 pounds; Push/Pull: Carts up to 100 pounds.

Environmental Factors: Exposure to dust, animal hair, and varying temperatures in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor activity involved.
