Job summary

The City of Siloam is seeking an Operator I to perform weed eating, mowing, and street maintenance within city limits. The role includes operating small and heavy equipment, performing drainage and utility tasks, and ensuring public safety through proper procedure adherence.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and basic training or experience with equipment like chainsaws, loaders, and backhoes.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating procedures.
• Basic math for measurements and materials calculations.
• Willingness to learn and operate multiple street & infrastructure vehicles and tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, quality maintenance for city streets, rights-of-way, and detention ponds.
• Operate mowing equipment and small power tools to maintain City areas.
• Perform street repairs, drainage work, and sign maintenance as assigned.
• Assist with storm drainage installation and curb/ gutter work as directed.
• Respond to weather-related duties including snow/ice removal and sand application.
• Adhere to safety policies and wear required PPE at all times.
