Job summary

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH company, seeks an Equipment Operator to safely operate loaders, backhoes, trucks, and related equipment across various job sites in Idaho. Training may be available, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related experience, plus the ability to read instructions, perform simple calculations, and follow procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Basic math skills for measuring quantities and costs.

Responsibilities

• Operate construction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
• Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
• Keep time and material records.
• Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
• Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
• Travel to various locations and assist on different job sites as needed.
