Job summary

SSA Marine is seeking an Equipment Operator to join its operations team in Columbus, MS. The role focuses on directing and safely handling cargo, maintaining positive relationships, and upholding safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities include collaborating with staff, monitoring data accuracy, troubleshooting issues, and participating in inventories. Candidates must follow safety procedures and be able to work varied shifts, with a valid driver's license and TWIC card.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience operating powered industrial truck-type equipment.
• Strong knowledge of terminal operations.
• Ability to observe safety and health requirements.
• Ability to work varied hours and days.
• Valid driver's license and TWIC card.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with staff while handling cargo as directed safely and in a manner to complete tasks according to plans.
• Support, monitor, and troubleshoot, when necessary, ensuring data is accurate and informing terminal staff of any discrepancies.
• May participate in physical inventories to verify stock and ordering needs.
• Must understand and adhere to safety procedures while implementing plans to address safety hazards.
• Reports problems and issues to the appropriate Manager.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
• Performs other related duties as required.
