Job summary

LeoTerra Development, Inc. is seeking a skilled grading equipment operator in Raleigh, NC to manage site development tasks and operate heavy machinery with a focus on safety and efficiency.

You will support grading, erosion control and utility layout, while following all safety policies, and maintaining equipment readiness. A valid license, experience, and good communication are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year of experience as a heavy equipment operator.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read plans and perform basic math.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and follow safety rules.
• Maintain and report equipment and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment for clearing, grading and site work as directed.
• Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment.
• Prepare the construction site daily with materials, tools and equipment.
• Perform routine inspection and basic maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Report defects or needed repairs to the asset manager and document reports.
• Maintain accurate time cards and use company systems for communications.
• Utilize computer software and related tools to complete tasks.

Grading Equipment Operator Raleigh NC Description LeoTerra is actively seeking experienced heavy equipment operators

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment for clearing grubbing site striping mass grading fine grading roadway installation erosion control workmonitoring and other related activities
• Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Assist with preparing the construction site each day by preparing materials tools and equipment
• Various tasks requiring the ability to operate heavy equipment roller dozer excavator front end loader off road trucks skid steer mini etc at a basic level
• Operates heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road site or highway construction and excavation
• Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and provides required reports
• Any defects or needed repairs should be reported to the asset manager; cleans equipment
• Properly follows all state and federal agencies safety procedures; brings problems to the attention of the General Superintendent Superintendent safety director or HR manager
• Promotes and complies with all company safety policies and procedures
• Maintain certifications required by all state and federal agencies and company safety programs
• Flexibility of working hours and locations
• Ability to use computer software and related tools to complete assigned tasks

Experience & Requirements

• Must have at least one year of experience as a heavy equipment operator
• High School Diploma/GED
• Must pass a pre employment drug and background screening
• A motor vehicle report will be run on anyone considered for this position
• Desire to learn and grow professionally
• Interpersonal and communication skills verbal and written
• Ability to compute basic numbers read scales and use simple fractions
• Intermediate level of comprehension regarding reading residential design plans develop erosion earth moving and utilities plan
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
