Job summary

PURIS is seeking an Equipment Operator to support trenchless pipe bursting and underground utility rehabilitation projects in Detroit, MI. The role requires operating excavators, backhoes, and related equipment while assisting with setup, loading, and site safety.

You will work under the Pipe Bursting Supervisor to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project execution with a focus on quality and reliability in varying outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years heavy equipment operation.
• Experience in underground utility construction preferred.
• Experience working around trenching or excavation.
• CDL preference; restrictions acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and backhoes safely and efficiently.
• Assist with pipe bursting setup and operation.
• Maintain and inspect equipment daily; report issues.
• Follow OSHA regulations and maintain safe work zones.
• Support crew with general construction duties as needed.
