Job summary

Coda-Resources in Illinois seeks an Equipment Operator/Material Handler to move, store, and replenish inventory in a high-density warehouse. You will operate forklifts and RF scanners, load/unload pallets, and ensure accurate tracking.

Training is phased with initial operations at Glendale Heights, transitioning to a brand-new Joliet facility. Upon completion, the role will be based permanently in Joliet and require a strong compliance with safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of warehouse, forklift, or material-handling experience.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment in a fast-paced warehouse.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move pallets through narrow warehouse aisles and high-density storage racks.
  • Safely and efficiently load and unload palletized and floor-loaded inventory from shipping containers.
  • Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift equipment and battery inspections and report any safety or maintenance concerns.
  • Scan, track, and verify products using handheld RF scanning devices.
  • Replenish primary pick locations from reserve storage rack locations to maintain inventory availability.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment while following all company policies and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Consistently complete daily work assignments accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Job description

The Equipment Operator/Material Handler is responsible for safe and efficient movement, storage, and replenishment of inventory throughout the warehouse. This position operates material-handling equipment in narrow aisles and high-density storage areas, loads and unloads inventory, and uses handheld RF technology to accurately scan and track products. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This position will follow a phased onboarding and training plan. Training and initial operations will take place at our Glendale Heights facility, with a planned transition to our brand-new warehouse in Joliet as operations are relocated. Upon completion of the transition, this role will be based in Joliet on a permanent basis.
