Job summary

Sims Metal in Tulsa, OK is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate material handler, front end loader, skid steer, or forklift to unload trucks and load trailers for transport of scrap material. Inspect incoming material and grade accordingly.

You will operate loaders and related machinery, perform routine maintenance, and uphold safety standards to ensure a zero-harm workplace and efficient material handling.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years’ experience working Heavy Equipment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must be able to wear a respirator.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, correspondence, & memos.
• Ability to speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload customer’s trucks/vehicles.
• Starts engine, shift gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader.
• Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Completes inspection report prior to using equipment.
• Responsible for customer & employee safety in and around work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
