Job summary

Lewis and Clark County Public Works is seeking an Equipment Operator – Landfill to support operations at the landfill and related transfer sites. You will operate heavy equipment (compactor, scraper, loaders), water and haul trucks, and assist with hauling tasks from Marysville, Augusta, and Lincoln Transfer Sites.

The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a schedule that may include weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate heavy equipment (compactor/scraper/loaders)
• Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols
• Experience with hauling and transfer-site logistics preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (compactor, scraper, loaders) to support landfill operations

Brief Description

Lewis and Clark County Public Works is recruiting for an Equipment Operator – Landfill. Under general supervision Solid Waste Manager and Landfill Supervisor, this position operates heavy equipment (compactor/scraper/loaders etc.), water truck and haul trucks (roll offs (w/trailer), tilt deck tow truck (w/winch), semi tractor/trailers etc.), to provide support of landfill operations to include hauling service from Marysville, Augusta, and Lincoln Transfer Sites, junk vehicle hauling through State of Montana Junk Vehicle Removal Program and heavy equipment supply hauling.

This position is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week. The specific workdays may change within a seven (7) day period, and schedules will be assigned by management according to operational requirements. Workdays are subject to change and may include weekends or holidays as needed.

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement preferred. Candidates who do not currently possess a Class A CDL are encouraged to apply. The County will provide access to a Class A CDL training and certification. Employees must obtain a Class A CDL within six (6) months of their hire date.
