Build your career at US Aggregates! As an Equipment Operator/Laborer, you will be responsible for maintaining production, safety, quality, and equipment within the Operations function. This includes operating heavy machinery such as Front-End Loaders, Haul Trucks, and Skid Steers.
Essential Functions
- Operate, service, and maintain various heavy equipment to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Perform routine fueling, oiling, greasing, and safety checks on equipment.
- Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections and document activities accurately.
- Participate in training and complete required certifications.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and rules, including those around railroad tracks and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of facilities and equipment.
- Suggest operational improvements for safety and efficiency.
- Comply with yard rules, safety regulations, and PPE requirements.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately.
- Adhere to company policies regarding product transfers, quality, safety, and operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned, supporting the company's core values and growth.
Education Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Skills and Abilities
- Dependable attendance and high performance levels.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic reading, writing, communication, and math skills in English.
- Knowledge of safety and operational principles specific to US Aggregates.
- Ability to complete documentation and participate in safety briefings.
- Teamwork, flexibility, and willingness to work days, nights, and weekends.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Welding, torching, and maintenance skills are a plus.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Ability to stand or walk continuously on various terrains.
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders and inclines.
- Ability to bend, crouch, or kneel.
- Lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
