Job summary

Alumicore, a Pittsburgh, PA based company, seeks an Equipment Operator & Laborer for day and night shifts at the Monessen, PA facility. You will operate forklifts, loaders, excavators, cranes, and haul trucks, supporting production lines while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ years in heavy equipment or industrial labor, and a commitment to OSHA standards. OT may be required; a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; trade training preferred.
• 1+ years in heavy equipment operation or general industrial site labor.
• Experience running forklifts, skid steers, and/or metal handling is preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency and strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment including forklifts, loaders, excavators, cranes, and haul trucks to stage, transport, and process materials for production lines.
• Execute site clearing, staging area setup, material sorting, and physical site preparation to maintain continuous workflow.
• Feed raw materials to production areas and conveyor systems in alignment with schedules.
• Perform routine inspections on machinery and report defects to maintenance staff.
• Strictly comply with OSHA guidelines and wear PPE at all times.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area and assist with rigging when required.

Equipment Operator & Laborer will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, managing material transport, and executing general site labor tasks essential to day-to-day industrial operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in industrial site operations and contribute to impactful projects.

This is a shift position, with day shit and overnight shift options available, out of our Monessen, PA facility.

Essential Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment—including forklifts, loaders, excavators, cranes, and haul trucks to stage, transport, and process materials for production lines.
• Execute site clearing, staging area setup, material sorting, and physical site preparation to maintain continuous workflow.
• Feed raw materials to production areas and conveyor systems in strict alignment with operational schedules.
• Perform routine daily inspections on assigned machinery, mobile equipment, and conveyor systems to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct basic maintenance tasks (e.g., fluid checks, greasing, equipment cleaning) and report mechanical defects or repair needs immediately to supervisor/maintenance staff.
• Strictly comply with all OSHA guidelines, construction regulations, industrial environment standards, and company safety policies.
• Maintain a secure, orderly, and hazard-free work area; participate in routine site safety briefings and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Perform physically demanding manual labor tasks, site setup, and rigging support as needed when heavy machinery is not in active use.
• Collaborate effectively with production technicians, maintenance teams, and site supervisors to complete project deliverables safely and on time.

Education And Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade training preferred.
• Prior hands-on experience in heavy equipment operation or general industrial site labor.
• 1+ years’ experience running forklifts, small mobile equipment, skid steers, and/or metal experience preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery, including mobile equipment and conveyor systems.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to enforce quality and safety standards consistently.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a physically demanding, high-heat, deadline-driven, and production-focused setting.
• Working is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, heat, dust, materials from operational area, molten metal, and extreme temperature variations.
• Regular outside work required with exposure to weather conditions of extreme cold, and extreme heat.
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift, and must be comfortable working from ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms when required.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. Climbing stairs and working at varying heights as required.
• See, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
• Willing and able to work overtime when needed.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
