Alcoa is seeking a Production Technician in Hawaii to fabricate powders and components up to 50 pounds, while supporting material batching, processing, and equipment operations. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork in a manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, manufacturing experience is preferred, and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or trade school degree in mechanical/electrical trades.
• Preference for candidates with experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform material handling, weighing, completing process steps in sequence, and documenting process data.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. from waist level as needed.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate special powders and components weighing up to 50 pounds while maintaining safety, quality and productivity standards.
• Support operational tasks to meet project requirements including material batching and mixing, powder processing (milling and spray drying), forming (die presses), furnace and kiln loading/unloading; maintain process equipment.
• Prepare and test samples using laboratory analytical equipment (LECO, density and dimensional measurements).
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other mobile equipment as needed.
• Work with a team to disassemble, repair and troubleshoot equipment; maintain knowledge of Alcoa EH&S standards.

About the Role (Essential Duties and Responsibilities)

• The Production Technician is responsible for the fabrication of special powders and components that weigh up to 50 pounds each while keeping safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Responsible for supporting operational tasks to meet project requirements including, but not limited to, material batching and mixing, powder processing (milling and spray drying), forming (die presses), furnace and kiln loading/unloading while maintaining process equipment.
• Responsible for preparing and test samples using laboratory analytical equipment consisting of LECO chemical analysis, density measurements, dimensional measurements, and others.
• Operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, and other mobile equipment as needed.
• A diverse set of skills including strong mechanical aptitude to work collaboratively with a team for equipment disassembly, repair and trouble shooting.
• Become knowledgeable about Alcoa EHS standards, protocols, and tools to ensure that safety protocols are being followed accordingly.
