Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment to excavate, move and grade material.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• Possibly instruct and train employees in safe operation and techniques.
• Inspect equipment, structures or materials for defects and resolve issues.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, and resources needed.
