Job description

Responsibilities
  • Daily inspects and maintains all equipment and systems to ensure the proper operation of the bio‑solids process.
  • Performs duties required to ensure that the bio‑solids process is operated in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Performs monitoring and analysis as required by the NPDES permit.
  • Interprets laboratory results and makes adjustments to equipment and bio‑solids processes based on this data.
  • Regularly performs routine and non‑routine maintenance on all equipment to ensure satisfactory operation; advises supervisor of any deficiencies, non‑compliance, and/or malfunctioning systems affecting the bio‑solids process.
  • Coordinates the disposal of bio‑solids.
  • Participates in the department’s on‑call system for proving operation and maintenance on weekends and holidays.
  • Maintains logs and records of bio‑solids operations.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and standards of quality and safety.
  • Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns, complaints, and requests for assistance from customers and the general public regarding areas of responsibility.
  • Attends meetings, training, etc., as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills.

Considered essential employee in the event of inclement weather or emergency conditions.

Special Certifications and Licenses
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license; requires a CDL license.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Class C wastewater treatment plan operator license within six months of employment; a Class A biological wastewater treatment operator’s license is preferred.
Experience Requirements

Requires over three year and up to and including five years.

Compensation

Minimum: $23.92
