An Overview
An Equipment Operator II operates one or more types of heavy automotive equipment. This role requires significant skill in manipulating heavy motor equipment, with a focus on safety to prevent accidents. Assignments are detailed by supervisors, following standard procedures, with periodic inspections for safety and efficiency. This class differs from Equipment Operator I by requiring higher skill levels and handling more expensive equipment. Incumbents often lead Laborers and Refuse Collectors.

Note: Resource Recovery operates 7 days a week. Scheduled hours may include weekends. Typical hours are 6:30 am – 3:00 pm (October–April) and 5:30 am – 2:00 pm (May–September).
