Job summary

The City of Norfolk's Department of Utilities is seeking an Equipment Operator II for the Water Distribution Division. The incumbent will drive and operate large trucks to deliver and haul construction materials and equipment to and from job sites, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and clean work areas.

Key duties include loading/unloading materials, transporting personnel, and ensuring safety while lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Two years operating heavy equipment.
• Valid CDL required; Class A preferred.
• Tank Endorsement may be required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate large trucks to deliver and haul construction materials and equipment to job sites.
• Transport personnel to work sites and assist with loading/unloading materials.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment and keep work areas clean.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs., climb and stand for extended periods.
