Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an Operator to operate equipment as directed while complying with safety policies and procedures. The role involves hand-on operation of various machines, routine maintenance, and adherence to project plans.

The position requires at least one year of related experience, valid driver’s license with endorsements, strong teamwork, and the ability to read and apply safety instructions and load charts.

Qualifications

• Equipment certifications as required.
• Minimum one year of related experience.
• Current driver's license with endorsements as required by law.
• Strong teamwork, positive attitude, customer service, and detail orientation.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts.
• Ability to operate equipment and basic math skills.
• Independent work with good listening and communication; open to feedback.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs; may require assistance for heavier lifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, crane, and more.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
• Perform routine maintenance, observe equipment operation, and detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build relationships across backgrounds and organizational levels; perform other duties as assigned.
