Job description

HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is looking for an Operator to work at a customer location in Ashland, KY and join their safety-conscious team. This team member is responsible for the safe and proper execution of HPC-Industrial jobs across all service lines. The role involves supervising and completing single-task jobs requiring one crew, and managing turnarounds with management oversight at the client’s site, in accordance with client and company policies. Responsibilities include:

  • Act as safety representative, responsible for safety policies and procedures for both the company and the customer, including operations, safety, equipment, emergency response, and administrative functions.
  • Operate vacuum and hydroblasting equipment, including Ultra High-Pressure pumps.
  • Operate specialized equipment such as vacuum trucks, jetters, and chemical cleaning tools.
  • Ensure surface cleanliness meets company and customer specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform duties related to liquid vacuums, air machines, and jet rodders.
  • May supervise a crew of vacuum technicians.
  • Transport equipment and personnel to and from locations.
  • Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain driver logs, and comply with DOT requirements.
  • Handle hoses, unload vacuum trucks at dumpsites, and perform general field maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment, including Nomex coveralls, back belts, suits, boots, masks, and helmets.
  • Work under extreme climate conditions, including high heat, humidity, and cold.
  • Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, exhaust, and pressurized fluids.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • Safety training and on-the-job experience in related roles
  • Proficiency in English for safety and emergency communication
  • Smartphone for electronic logging
  • Federal TWIC card required
  • Knowledge of emergency equipment operation, such as fire extinguishers
  • Experience with vacuum trucks and related equipment
