Job summary

Disforce-Heavy Maintenance in Randolph County is hiring a Transportation Worker 2 - Equipment Operator as part of a state apprenticeship program. You will operate heavy machinery across multiple counties, perform road maintenance, and support safety operations.

The role requires CDL and physical stamina, with paid on-the-job training and potential for higher pay as proficiency grows. Selected candidates must be available for day or night shifts during snow and ice control seasons and be willing

Qualifications

• No formal education required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery such as skid steers, utility tractors, aerial bucket trucks, front-end loaders, tandem-axle trucks, and snowplows.
• Perform roadside maintenance including patching, ditching, mowing, sign posts, and traffic control setup.
• Maintain equipment, perform basic repairs, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Work required hours, days and possible weekends; respond to emergency calls during SRIC operations.
