Job summary

Thompson Turner Construction is seeking an experienced Light Equipment Operator to operate power construction equipment such as backhoes, graders, and forklifts. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and adherence to OSHA regulations on excavation and site procedures.

You will read survey stakes for alignment, assist with load handling, and work with the crew to complete tasks on schedule. A CDL may be required depending on location, and candidates must pass a background check and drug test as

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field.
• May require a CDL, Class A or B.
• May require an annual physical examination.
• May be necessary to pass certification prior to operating some equipment.
• Truck operators may be required to have a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers and understand direction from supervisor.
• Utilize basic math to calculate load weights and balance points.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand, and reach repetitively, operate moving equipment, and work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
• Candidate may be required to pass a drug test and criminal background check based on job location/requirements.
