Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operates steam, gasoline or diesel-powered machinery used in material handling, bridge building, earth moving, excavating, grading and road construction or maintenance.
• Operates a motor grader to scrape dirt and gravel roads and perform road maintenance.
• Operate tractors, bulldozers, power shovel, and related equipment for site preparation and earth moving.
• Perform minor repairs and check mechanical conditions of equipment.

SummaryThis is skilled work in the operation of various types of heavy-duty construction equipment. The work involves operating gasoline, steam or diesel-powered machinery used in material handling, bridge building, earth moving, and excavating, grading and road maintenance. Originality and independence of action are frequently based on experience and specialized knowledge of the technical processes. Incumbent general receives project assignments from a superior who indicates specific results desired.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesThe following are examples of work performed for positions in this job class and are not intended to reflect the essential functions of any one position.
