Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and three years of related experience.
  • Possession of a valid Mississippi commercial driver’s license.
  • Experience operating bull dozers, motor graders, and similar heavy equipment if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Operates steam, gasoline or diesel-powered machinery used in material handling, bridge building, earth moving, excavating, grading and road construction or maintenance.
  • Operates a motor grader to scrape dirt and gravel roads and level road shoulders.
  • Operates tractors, bulldozers, power shovel, and similar equipment to level and grade sites and perform earth moving.
  • Checks mechanical conditions and makes minor repairs on machinery and equipment.
  • Operates a power crane in dredging, excavating or moving earth, rock, or sand, and moves lumber and girders.
  • Works as finisher cat operator or maintenance construction and performs difficult finishing and grading operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
