Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, rollers, track loaders).
• Ability to lead crews for quality and production.
• Knowledge of soil and stone conditions and earthmoving.
• Ability to read grade stakes and plans; accurate measurement and calculation.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate equipment such as excavators, dozers, rollers, and track loaders and maintain daily inspection logs.
• Excavate, grade, backfill, and compact to plans and grade stakes.
• Work safely around underground utilities, personnel, and spotters.
• Coordinate with project supervision and communicate issues promptly.
• Operate GPS and laser grade-control systems to maintain grade and proper drainage.
• Mentor apprentices and operators to advance capabilities.
• Load and unload machines on trailers and assist with ground work when not operating.
