Job summary

Federated Co-ops in Rush City, MN is seeking an Equipment Operator / Custom Applicator. You will operate a custom application unit to apply crop protection products and nutrients for customers, while performing routine maintenance on equipment and assisting in shop tasks as needed.

The role requires operating large equipment, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and maintaining accurate spray records.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of agricultural application experience preferred.
• 3–5 years of Tender truck and equipment maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate large modern application equipment.
• Maintain equipment in shop and perform repairs as needed.
• Operate computers on equipment and load/apply pesticides or fertilizers.
• Deliver, mix, load/unload, and apply products for customers.
• Handle and deliver bulk and packaged goods.
• Maintain daily equipment and facility cleanliness and regulatory compliance.

• Drive and operate trucks and equipment safely per laws and company policies.
• Provide quality customer service to producers and staff.
• Attend continuing education courses to stay current on products and regulations.

Job Details: Job Location: Rush City Country Store & Fuels - Rush City, MN, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Federated Co-ops has an opening for an Equipment Operator / Custom Applicator to join our team at the Rush City Country Store!

As an Equipment Operator / Custom Applicator, you will operate a custom application unit providing application of crop protection products and crop nutrients for customers in a timely, accurate manner for their farming operations. This position will perform maintenance and assistance in all aspects of the Co-ops operations as directed when not operating a custom application machine.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Equipment Operator / Custom Applicator include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Operate large modern application equipment
• Workin our shop maintaining our equipment
• Operates computers on equipment
• Deliver, mix, load/unload,and provide application of pesticides/fertilizers and seed
• Handles and delivers bulk and packaged goods
• Responsible for daily maintenance, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance of equipment and facilities
• Maintain application/spray records
• Driveand operatetrucks, vehicles, equipment and tools safely and efficiently by following all current D.O.T. regulations, company policies, manufacturer instructions, state and local laws and codes, and any other applicable laws, codes or regulations.
• Perform winter maintenance on fertilizer equipment and make needed improvements on all fertilizer facilities
• Work closely with producers and fellow employees to provide outstanding customer service
• Attend continuing education courses to maintain a quality level of knowledge for the products, regulations and customer relations
• Operate fleet trucks as directed by Location Manager during the off season
• Scout fields for weed and insect problems. Take soil samples, make field maps
• Must be able to communicate in a professional manner to the Producer, Salespersonand Location Manager
• Complete daily tasks in a safe and efficient manner

Qualifications:

• Prefer 3-5 years previous Ag applications experience.
• Prefer 3-5 years previous Tender truck and equipment maintenance experience.

Certificates and Licenses:

• Currently holds a class D license
• Currently holdsor able to obtain a class B Commercial Driver's License
• Currently holdsor able to obtain Tanker Endorsements
• Currently holds or able to obtain Commercial Applicator's License
• Class A license is a plus

The wage range for this role is set at $21 - $28 / hour. The actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
