Job summary

Louisville Metro Government is seeking a 2nd shift worker (Wednesday-Sunday, 9A-5P) to perform manual labor and operate a variety of heavy equipment including trucks, snow plows, and spreaders. The role requires a valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement or ability to obtain within three months, and a minimum one year of heavy equipment experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent is required.
• One year of heavy equipment operation experience (garbage packer truck, haul truck, wood-chipper, water truck or similar).
• Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA and pass pre-employment tests.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual labor as part of daily operations.
• Operates light, medium and heavy vehicles, power tools and other equipment.
• Works outdoors and handles equipment such as snow plows and salt/brine spreaders.
• Maintains regular attendance and can be on 24 hour call.
