Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a heavy equipment operator to support aggregates production at our Pennsylvania facility. The role involves operating machinery, maintaining stockpiles, and keeping the plant safe and efficient.

You will perform routine inspections, assist the crew with cleanup, and ensure equipment is properly fueled and documented. A GED or high school diploma and at least one year of related experience are required, with safety compliance emphasized.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of heavy equipment operation or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Commitment to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in aggregates production.
  • Maintain stockpiles of stone to support consistent production.
  • Keep plant and facilities clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order and report issues.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative/corrective maintenance as within abilities; escalate issues as needed.
  • Assist crew as needed, including shoveling and cleanup tasks.
  • Fuel, oil, and grease equipment and complete related paperwork.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in the production of aggregates
  • Maintain stockpiles of stone to ensure consistent production of asphalt
  • Maintain housekeeping of plant and facilities
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order
  • Perform routine inspection and preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment if within abilities; escape issues that are not
  • Routinely assist other members of the crew as needed, including shoveling and cleanup
  • Fuel, oil and grease equipment to ensure proper function and completes associated paperwork
  • Perform related job duties as assigned
What Are We Looking For

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.

Work Environment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
