Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a mobile plant operator to load raw materials using excavators, perform routine checks, and assist with plant setup and relocation. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adaptability to changing locations within a production environment.

The position requires the ability to work a mid-shift schedule (11am–9pm) and maintain efficient material flow while following all site safety and environmental procedures. Prior heavy equipment experience is essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operate excavators to load raw materials into portable crushing equipment
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure safe operation

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and background check

Work Environment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.

Physical Demands of the Job

• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment
• Frequent walking, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity required to operate controls and inspect equipment
• Tolerance for working in dusty, noisy, and physically demanding environments
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots
