Job summary

Circular Services in Hillburn, NY is seeking an Equipment Operator to support daily recycling and production operations. You will safely operate forklifts, industrial balers, and automated equipment, inspect machinery, monitor product quality, and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

Shift is Mon-Fri 5:00 AM–1:30 PM with occasional Saturdays; pay rate is $25.73 per hour. Benefits include FSA, vacation time, 401k matching, EAP, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Driver's License (if applicable).
• Must be able to read, speak, and write basic English.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Previous experience operating industrial machinery.
• Experience in the Recycling industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Monitor the flow of materials ensuring they are loaded correctly into the baler.
• Operates industrial balers and automated bunker system in the recycling plant, forklifts, machinery, and other equipment.
• Performs all assigned basic preventative maintenance on industrial balers and associated equipment.
• Makes minor repairs and adjustments to industrial balers and associated equipment.
• Operates computer controlled automated bunker system.
• Properly utilize balers and bunkers to ensure single stream processing is not interrupted.
• Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area including equipment and work areas.
• Provide daily baler production reports to plan operations.

About the Role:

The Baler/Forklift Operator is responsible for supporting daily recycling and production operations by safely operating forklifts, industrial balers, and automated equipment. This role ensures the efficient movement and processing of materials, performs routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance, monitors product quality, and maintains a clean and safe work environment. The operator works closely with operations teams to maximize operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with all company policies and safety regulations.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

The normal work environment is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring necessary precautions, including PPE
