Job summary

Sims Municipal Recycling in Frisco, Texas is hiring a Sorter for their new facility. As a Sorter, you will ensure the proper sorting of materials on a conveyor line and maintain cleanliness in the work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience using PPE like hard hats, reflective vests, and steel toe boots is preferred.
• Prior work experience in a recycling facility is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Sort materials on the conveyor line doing quality control.
• Identify and remove non-conforming items safely.
• Perform general warehouse cleanup after shifts.
• Clean processing equipment at the end of each shift.

About the Role

The Recycling Sorter is responsible for ensuring proper placement and sorting of materials on the conveyor line.

Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

• Stand at a station along a conveyor belt doing quality control on mixed recyclables.
• Quickly identify non-conforming items for removal from a fixed station and safely remove them into designated chutes or bins.
• General warehouse cleanup at the end of each shift.
• Processing equipment cleanup at the end of each shift.

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Familiarity with the use of basic Personal Protective Equipment like a hard hat, reflective vest, steel toe boots, ear and eye protection, utility gloves, and arm preferred.
• Previous experience in an industrial recycling facility preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The normal work environment is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.
