Heavy Civil Equipment Operators work under the supervision of the jobsite Foreman, Superintendent, and Project Manager. Responsibilities include operating equipment such as excavators, dozers, haul trucks, water trucks, etc. The role involves physical labor, including lifting, pulling, digging, site cleaning, and equipment maintenance. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen, be able to lift 50 lbs, and prioritize safety. Typical work hours are 50-60 hours per week.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times
• Operate equipment such as Motor Grader, Dozer, Excavator, Loader, or Skid Steer (must have experience in at least one)
• Perform duties as assigned by supervisor
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Conduct daily equipment and tool inspections
• Maintain cleanliness at the jobsite
• Complete tasks efficiently and on time
• Prepare sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting
• Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeships are a plus
• OSHA 10/30 certification is preferred but not required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills with all management levels

Working Environment and Conditions

This role involves outdoor work. Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, wind, sun, rain, and cold weather.

Essential Job Functions

• Lift heavy objects and stand/walk for extended periods
• Perform strenuous physical labor in the field
• Use manual strength to lift, push, pull, and carry objects
• Require manual dexterity and coordination
