Job summary

Taylor Corporation is seeking an Equipment Operator in Minnesota to operate finishing equipment and ensure quality of paper products according to job ticket specifications. You will read orders and blueprints, set up and adjust machinery, and maintain safe, efficient production aligned with deadlines.

The role requires following written and verbal instructions, basic math for stock optimization, and strong attention to detail.

• Basic math skills to read a ruler and calculate label dimensions for stock optimization.
• Ability to operate equipment and obtain proficiency as measured through production and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment and machinery used for processes such as packaging, bindery, finishing and print production.
• Does setups, adjustments and cleanups.
• Operates equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Reads and interprets work orders, blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery.
• Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, within quality guidelines and in a timely fashion.

You will operate a finishing piece of equipment producing paper products according to job ticket specifications. You are responsible to approve or disapprove of the quality of finished jobs completed in the bindery and bookbinding departments.

Your Responsibilities

• Operates equipment and machinery used for processes such as packaging, bindery, finishing and print production.
• Do setups, adjustments and cleanups.
• Operates equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Reads and interprets work orders, blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery.
• Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, within quality guidelines and in a timely fashion.

Your Shift

Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm

Requirements

• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand.
• Regularly required to remain in a stationary position; frequently standing for majority of shifts.
• Constantly operate and adjust machinery based on order needs and handles products including print materials.
• Frequently required to move inside the facility.
• Regularly move up to 30+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry).

You Must Have

• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
• The ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Basic math skills to read a ruler and calculate label dimensions for stock optimization.
• Ability to operate equipment and obtain proficiency as measured through production and quality standards.

Compensation

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $18 - $21. The actual base offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation’s total compensation and benefits package for employees.
