Job Summary

Operate machinery as directed while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures to produce a superior product.

Job Responsibilities

1. Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
2. Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates.
3. Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
4. Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance, assuring the product meets quality requirements.
5. Perform routine machine maintenance.
6. Assist other operators to set up machines and perform other necessary tasks to meet deadlines and complete products.
7. Maintain housekeeping in a clear and orderly fashion in the assigned area.
8. Perform other duties related to the job as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis.
9. Operate front end loader and forklift when required.

Job Requirements

1. Machine operator experience and mechanical skills are a plus.
2. High school diploma/equivalent; or at least one month of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
4. Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
5. Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
6. Ability to understand and follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
7. Ability to handle problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
8. Maintain high accuracy in work assignments.
9. Frequently stand on feet for extended periods.
10. Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 lbs.
11. Flexible schedule availability.
