Job summary

ElectriCom is seeking an Equipment Operator to support aerial and underground fiber-construction projects. The role involves operating heavy equipment, assisting field crews, performing routine inspections, and ensuring safety and efficiency on outdoor job sites.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy construction equipment; telecom/utility experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow construction plans and job specifications.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, and rock saws.
• Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation.
• Assist field crews with groundwork and installation tasks.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain awareness of utilities.

We are seeking an Equipment Operator to support aerial and underground fiber-construction projects. This role operates heavy equipment, assists field crews, performs routine equipment checks, and helps ensure safe and efficient job-site operations. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, and travel to job sites—including overnight out-of-town assignments—is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, and rock saws
• Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation
• Assist crews with groundwork and installation tasks
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of underground and overhead utilities
• Load, unload, and secure equipment and materials
• Work outdoors in all weather and terrain conditions
• Travel to job sites, including overnight out-of-town assignments; overtime may be required
• Participate in required training and perform traffic control as needed
