ElectriCom Inc, a utility construction company, is hiring an Equipment Operator to support aerial and underground fiber-construction projects. This role operates heavy equipment, assists field crews, and performs routine equipment checks to ensure safe, efficient job-site operations.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy construction equipment; telecom/utility experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow construction plans and job specifications.
• Strong understanding of job-site safety and utility-location awareness.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, and rock saws.
• Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation.
• Assist crews with groundwork and installation tasks.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of underground and overhead utilities.
• Load, unload, and secure equipment and materials.
• Travel to job sites, including overnight out-of-town assignments; overtime may be required.
• Participate in required training and perform traffic control as needed.

Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, and travel to job sites—including overnight out-of-town assignments—is required.
