The Equipment Operator supports a telecom construction crew for large‑scale projects with an emphasis on underground construction across the USA. This position operates construction equipment—including backhoes, cable plows, trenchers, hydraulic reel trailers, and other machinery—and assures maintenance of these as required. The role also operates horizontal/directional drill rigs and locates equipment and product support equipment. It performs semi‑skilled activities related to HDD locating and must be familiar with industry standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures. The position is familiar with preparation, methodology, tools, and safety related to the placement of underground telecommunication utility infrastructure for a variety of projects, including municipal projects.
