At C-2 Utility Contractors, as an Equipment Operator on our Telecom Underground team, you’ll lead crews in the installation and maintenance of underground telecommunication systems. You’ll ensure safety protocols and project timelines are followed.

Responsibilities of an Equipment Operator

• Lead crews to meet project deadlines
• Assist in training crew members
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA, and DOT regulations
• Support the Supervisor with daily activities
• Communicate with property owners and resolve issues
• Operate heavy equipment and machinery safely
• Work in all weather conditions
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver’s license (Class A CDL preferred)
• High School Diploma, GED, relevant experience, or a combination
• At least three years of related work experience

Physical requirements & exposures

• Routinely: work alone in remote/confined spaces, operate machinery, perform manual tasks involving lifting over 55 lbs
• Occasionally: use ladders, keyboards, and mice
