Job Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of company equipment used on construction sites, primarily for overhead and underground telecommunication lines.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in utility construction

Preferred Qualifications

• Current First Aid / CPR Card or willingness to obtain
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements relevant to equipment operation, repair, and maintenance
• Union membership in jurisdiction of the job site
• Valid CDL and current DOT medical exam card or willingness to obtain

• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to emergencies

Job Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery used in utility construction, such as tractors, bulldozers, backhoes, forklifts, and excavators (excluding cranes). May operate equipment in gas, electric, or transmission sites.
• Inspect and maintain equipment daily, coordinate repairs.
• Assist with requisitioning, handling, and transporting materials and tools.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits

• Wage based on Montana Communications contract, $22.87 - $33.57/hr, depending on experience
• Union benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision
• Retirement contribution of 6% of earnings (non-matching)
