Job Overview:

As a Power Equipment Operator, you will be essential in enabling our store delivery, big ticket (furniture and bedding), and customer fulfillment warehouses to deliver a customer-centric supply chain and move products swiftly to meet customer expectations. Your role involves operating material handling equipment (MHE) in our warehouse and fulfillment centers.

What you will do:

  • Equipment Operation: Operate various power equipment to perform pick, pull, put away, and utility tasks efficiently and accurately, meeting quality and productivity standards. This includes operating equipment at heights up to 40 ft with or without merchandise on pallets. Equipment used may include stock pickers, reach trucks, turrets, and doubles.
  • Technology: Accurately use PCs, handheld devices, RF equipment, and other systems, learning area-specific functions within multiple warehouse and proprietary systems.
  • Safety: Perform job functions safely, navigating narrow aisles and operating at high elevations while wearing safety harnesses. Report equipment failures, damages, and accidents promptly. Provide feedback on environmental safety issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members across departments to achieve goals, maintain a positive environment, and communicate effectively, sharing feedback, ideas, and concerns.

  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and operational instructions

  • Proficient with computers and handheld technology
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Open to cross-training in other facility areas based on volume

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged walking and standing during shifts (excluding breaks)
  • Frequent use of computers and handheld devices
  • Reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping
  • Lifting items up to 50 lbs.
  • Good vision, including color and depth perception
  • Comfort working at heights up to 40 ft
  • Ability to hear safety alarms and warning signals

Note: For colleagues in the Supply Chain and those working in facilities without a Collective Bargaining Agreement, monthly or semi-monthly random drug testing will be conducted, with tests completed within 24 hours of notification.
