Job summary

Inframark's Civil and Environmental Engineering team is seeking an Equipment Operator to support water, wastewater, and utility field projects. You will operate equipment, support crews, and help ensure safe, reliable operations.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2–4 years of field equipment operation; CDL license is preferred. Knowledge of water/wastewater systems is a plus, and you may travel locally to job sites.

Summary of Functions

The Equipment Operator (Operations) supports water, wastewater, and utility operations by operating equipment and vehicles for field projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate excavation, trenching, and lifting equipment.
• Assist with pipeline, water main, and wastewater system work.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance of equipment.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to sites.
• Support crews in utility operations and emergency response.

Organizational Relationships

• Reports to Operations Supervisor.
• Works with utility and operations crews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of utility or field equipment operation.
• CDL license preferred.
• Knowledge of water/wastewater systems a plus.

Physical Demands

• Frequent lifting up to 60 lbs and climbing.
• Prolonged equipment use in variable conditions.

Work Environment

• Outdoor utility and operations environments.
• Exposure to water, wastewater, and construction sites.

Travel

• Local travel for utility operations.
