Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is hiring an Equipment Maintenance Technician Intern (Metrology) at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon.

This paid internship includes coverage of tuition and required books for interns enrolled in designated programs, with potential for a full-time Equipment Technician II role after completing the AAS program. Interns will learn semiconductor equipment maintenance, balance class schedules with a minimum 24 hours per week commitment, and gain a valuable credential

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in Microelectronics, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering Technology, or other approved AAS programs.

Responsibilities

Read and navigate schematics, hand tools and common test equipment for calibration, diagnosis and repair of equipment.
Disassemble, adjust and repair equipment according to maintenance specifications and OEM manuals.
Utilize diagnostic equipment to monitor equipment performance, diagnose root causes, and to make reliability improvement recommendations.
Work safely with systems that contain radiation, electrical, mechanical, liquid and gas hazards.
Apply mechanical and equipment knowledge in a wide variety of electrical, pneumatic and robotic systems.
Present issues and solutions to the group. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Be a self-starter who can plan effectively, re-prioritize and ask for help when needed.
