Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is offering a paid Equipment Maintenance Technician Intern position (Wet Process) at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon.

Interns will learn semiconductor equipment maintenance while pursuing an AAS in relevant programs and may qualify for a full-time Equipment Technician II role upon program completion. Interns work at least 24 hours per week with schedules fitting their class commitments, gain valuable credentials with minimal student debt, and have the opportunity

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in Microelectronics, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering Technology, or other approved AAS programs.
Ability to work two 12 hour shifts in fast paced cleanroom environment during the school year.
Apply theoretical concepts to practical applications.
Creative thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.
Competence in MS Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong organization, documentation, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

Read and navigate schematics, hand tools and test equipment for calibration, diagnosis and repair of equipment.
Disassemble, adjust and repair equipment per maintenance specifications and OEM manuals.
Use diagnostic equipment to monitor equipment performance, diagnose root causes, and recommend reliability improvements.
Work safely with systems containing radiation, electrical, mechanical, liquid and gas hazards.
Apply mechanical knowledge in electrical, pneumatic and robotic systems.
Present issues and solutions to the group with clear verbal and written communication.
