A leading organization is seeking an Equipment Mechanic Supervisor to manage advanced mechanical maintenance, conduct inspections, and oversee a team of mechanics. The successful candidate will ensure operational efficiency of equipment and develop related policies, all while working at the main facility in Leesburg, VA. This role requires a blend of technical skills and leadership experience, focusing on both machinery and staff management.
The organization is currently seeking qualified professionals to meet the demands of an Equipment Mechanic Supervisor. This position requires expertise in performing advanced mechanical maintenance, inspections, and essential repairs on small to medium-sized gas or diesel engines, along with various departmental machinery such as gators, snow blowers, excavators, and other similar equipment, as well as stationary equipment within facilities. Additionally, this role serves as the supervisor for the equipment shop or area, managing assigned equipment mechanics, seasonal staff, or contractors as needed. The responsibilities also include developing and maintaining plans, policies, and procedures pertaining to shop equipment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Conducts technically sophisticated preventive maintenance and repairs on relevant powered equipment.
• Directs and coordinates required warranty services with appropriate outside contractors.
• Responsible for overseeing and supervising the equipment shop/area staff.
• Carries out additional tasks as necessary or instructed by the relevant supervisor(s).
Salary is commensurate with experience.

High school diploma or equivalent preferably with specialized training in equipment repair, diagnostics, or in a similar trade (through either a vocational school and/or apprenticeship) and four (4) years of related experience with at least one (1) year in a lead technician or mechanic role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must undergo pre-employment criminal, credit, and DMV background checks. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Annual reviews of driving records may be conducted to maintain qualification.
Hold or obtain a CDL (Class A) with passenger, airbrake, and/or tanker endorsements within six (6) months of hire are required. The successful candidate holding a CDL must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and comply with the Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Program as outlined by Loudoun County's Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Policy for Transportation Employees. First Aid/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire; OSHA, forklift, bucket truck, and other lift truck trainings as required within department timeframes.
