Job summary

Bland Landscaping Company, Inc. seeks an Equipment Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet from handheld blowers to skid steers. You will minimize downtime and ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency, with a focus on safety and field support.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, servicing engines, performing preventative maintenance, and coordinating with managers for priority repairs. A CDL may be preferred and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years of professional experience in small engine and heavy equipment repair.
• Valid NC Driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
• Ability to work independently on a wide range of landscaping and construction equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to motivate team members.
• Strict adherence to safety protocols, PPE usage, and company policies.
• Must pass comprehensive background and reference checks.
• Willingness to comply with Bland Landscaping Company, Inc. SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to perform repairs.
• Perform engine service on 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines for handhelds and large machinery.
• Carry out preventative maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and belt adjustments.
• Conduct safety inspections to ensure OSHA and company standards.
• Provide mobile support for off-site repairs.
• Manage parts pickup and maintain organized shop/yard.
• Maintain accurate service records and inventory through the system.
• Coordinate with managers to prioritize repairs based on crew needs and seasonal demands.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and assist seasonal transitions.
